My two polarizing, favourite art eras, styles and visual languages are the clean, clear Bauhaus movement and the elegant, filigree, curvy and playful Art Nouveau or, Jugendstil, in German. On of my biggest influences and artists thereof is Alfons Mucha, Graphic Designer and Illustrator late 1890s and early 1900s, well known for his Posters with paintings of elegant women related paintings, full of hair and floral, curvy designs with a playful use of contour and warm colors. Since looking through my mother's art nouveau books as a child, which she wrote her thesis on already, it has fascinated me. Whether art, architecture or typefaces, it has my heart.
So it is no surprise that my drawing style with women focused motives is strongly influenced by the visual language.
