This was a personal project I created to illustrate the feeling of a sudden loss, highlighting the sudden helplessness of the unexpected void and the shock of the moment it takes to realize and fully accept it.

The feathers indicate the absence of a previously present feathered creature, like a bird that flies away and only some fallen feathers are left, like the memories we keep of the person we lost. Little bits of who they were, what we experienced with and through them, and what we keep, long after they passed on.
